B-HCI-G consults on details of professional accreditation scheme

Source: UN, 13 October 2001

The British HCI Group is asking usability specialists to say what they think of its proposed accreditation scheme. Details have been placed on the B-HCI-G website for comment.

The group is proposing a scheme by which consultancies, individual consultants and individuals within companies can affirm their skills. 'Because usability specialists come from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds we believe this needs to be flexible, light-weight and multi-layered' said a spokesperson.

Anyone with an interest in the details of the scheme is encouraged to visit the site and follow the link to the 'draft scheme for light weight accreditation'. This explains the rationale for what the group has done. There is also an on-line questionnaire for comment on the scheme.

Members of the British HCI Group may have already seen this material in the latest issue of Interfaces.
